Police look for escapee

Law officers need help finding a 23-year-old Meridian man who escaped while being led from a patrol car into the Lauderdale County Jail.
Anthony Evans was apprehended in Neshoba County after attempting to flee from Meridian officers in a July 5 car chase, Meridian Police Detective Deano Harper said.
Evans was transported back to Lauderdale County.
Evans stands 5 foot 6 inches, weighs 160 pounds, and has tattoos on his chest, his right arm and his stomach.
Harper said the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department, Kemper County Sheriff's Department and DeKalb Police Department have traffic violations listed against Evans.
