Graveside services for Gertrude Viverette Risher will be held today at 2 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Risher, of Vicksburg, originally from Meridian, died Saturday, July 6, 2002, in Vicksburg. She was retired from Riley Hospital and was a member of Jones Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Penny Risher and her sons, Charles A. Risher and Thomas D. Risher.
DORIS LONG WHITE
QUITMAN Graveside services for Doris Long White will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Stonewall Cemetery. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. White, 78, of Stonewall, died Friday, July 12, 2002, in her home. Mrs. White was born in Stonewall and returned there after living in Mobile, Ala. for many years. Mrs. White worked at Long's Fish Camp for 20 years and was known and loved by the many patrons.
Mrs. White had many loving family members and friends that brightened her days with love and kindness, music and dancing. Some of the special people in her life included, Gay, Gordon, Angela, Justin, Sheila, Jimmy, Lynn, Megan and Mary. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include by her children, Gary White, Charlie White and Kitty White; her grandchildren, Lee West Adams, Cliff West and Mary Ellen West Horlock, her great-grandchildren, Taren Lee Adams, Hunter Adams and Kitty Horlock.
She was preceded in death by her husband, R.E. White and her daughter, Rosemary White West.
Memorials may be made to the Meridian Alzheimer's Association.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.- 8p.m. at the funeral home.

DEKALB Services for Mary R. Houston will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Dekalb with the Rev. Robert Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery in Dekalb with E.E. McDonald Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Houston, 77, of Dekalb, died Monday, July 8, 2002, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include five daughters, Gloria Jones of Dekalb; Minnie Scott of Birmingham, Ala.; Mattie Sue Cherry and her husband, James, of Dekalb; Peggy Bailey and her husband, Joe, of Dekalb; nine sons, John Houston and wife, Myrtle, of Detroit, Mich.; James Arthur Houston and his wife, Barbara, of Meridian; McArthur Houston, and wife, Rozell, of Nashville, Tenn.; Alexander Houston and his wife, Shonda, of Miami, Fla.; Henry Earl Houston and his wife, Particia, of Meridian; Robert Lee Houston of Meridian; Oscar Lee Houston and his wife, Zenora, of Detroit; Michael Houston, of Dekalb; 59 grandchildren; 85 great grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; four great-great-great grandchildren; and three sisters, Minnie Donald of Wayne, Mich.; Bertha Moore, of Meridian; Sally Townsend and husband, Collins, of Meridian; two brothers, Bishop George Roberts and his wife, Elise, of Newton; and Steve Roberts of California; a several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a son.
Visitation will be held today from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the funeral home in Dekalb.

Arrangements were incomplete at James F. Webb Funeral Home for Sylvia A. Stephens, 55, of Meridian, who died, Thursday, July 11, 2002, at Queen City Nursing Center.
