Lakeview hosting pair of benefits

Lakeview Golf Course in Meridian will host the Anthony Bartlett Benefit Golf Tournament on July 20. The four-person scramble will be limited to the first 36 teams to register.
Play begins at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start. Entry fee is $200 per team ($50 per player) which includes lunch. Prizes will go to first, second, and third places and for the first hole-in-one on No. 7, the longest drive on No. 14, and for closest to the hole on Nos. 12 and 13.
Sign-up sheets are located at Lakeview or call Todd DiPalma at 601-693-6269 after 5 p.m.
For those unable to play but who would like to contribute, donations may also be made at any Citizens National Bank care of: Anthony Bartlett Memorial Fund.
Alzheimer's tourney set
The first-annual Alzheimer's Association Golf Tournament is scheduled for Aug. 10 at Lakeview. The three-man 18-hole scramble has an 8:30 a.m. tee time.
Entry fee is $120 per team which includes cart fee and a T-shirt. Breakfast and lunch will also be provided.
Prizes will be awarded for the longest drive on two holes and for the closest to the hole on two holes. Trophies will be awarded to the top three teams in all three flights. Additional door prizes will also be given out.

Tourney to aid hospital
The H.C. Watkins Hospital Development Council Golf Tournament will be held July 13 at Quitman Country Club. Proceeds from the three-person scramble will go toward the Development Fund established for the purchase of supplies, equipment, and furnishings for ongoing patient care at Watkins Hospital.

Don't forget "The Hully"
Dancing Rabbit Golf Club near Philadelphia will host a one-day golf tournament on July 25 in memory of former East Mississippi Community College men's basketball coach Steve Hull.
The four-person scramble will begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. on the Azaleas Course. Entry fee is $100 per player.
Persons who can't participate or don't play golf but would like to contribute may do so by donating to the Steve Hull Memorial Fund at Community Bank in Meridian. For more information, contact Lindsey Hall at 703-2091.
Rabbit hosting qualifier
Dancing Rabbit will host a sectional qualifying tournament for the 102nd U.S. Amateur Championship, Aug. 5-6.
This year's U.S. Amateur will be played at Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., Aug. 19-25.

Newton Country Club will host its 12th-annual Four-Ball Tournament, Saturday-Sunday. Last year's tournament had one of the best fields of any in central Mississippi. Entry fee is $65 per player.
