Clarkdale residents hit with car burglaries

The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department is investigating a rash of car burglaries in Clarkdale.
Eight cars were entered at residences along Highway 145 South Tuesday night, according to Maj. Ward Calhoun of the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department.
A digital camera was taken from one vehicle and compact discs were taken from another, but for the most part the vehicles were just ransacked, Calhoun said.
He said vehicle owners should always park their cars in a lighted garage or driveway, keep them locked and do not leave anything tempting to a thief in plain view in the car, such as guns, purses, money or shopping bags.
The sheriff's department requests anyone who may have seen anything related to the car burglaries, call the department at 482-9806 or call CrimeStoppers at 917-8888.
