The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating a Sunday night two-car accident in the westbound lane of Interstate-20 just east of Chunky, said Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Sgt. Ronnie Carter.
The accident occurred at 10:30 p.m. when Cliffton Thomas, 85, of Newton drove his 1992 Chevy pickup eastbound in the westbound lane of traffic and collided with a 2002 Chevy Malibu, Carter said.
Carter said all four occupants of the Chevy Malibu were sent to Riley Memorial Hospital; their names were unavailable. Carter also said Thomas was sent to Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
