Kyles, Vanderwall

Mr. and Mrs. Everette William Kyles of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Christine, to Scott Anthony Vanderwall, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Vanderwall of Otterbein, Ind.
The wedding will be Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, at 6 p.m. at The Evangel Temple Church in Meridian.
Miss Kyles is the granddaughter of Frieda Clark Harmon of Meridian and the late James T. Harmon, Armie Kyles of Salisbury, N.C., and the late M.E. Kyles.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Lamar High School and Meridian Community College. She received a bachelor's degree in history and American studies from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tenn.
While attending college, she was a member of Phi Alpha Delta, Phi Alpha Theta, Phi Theta Kappa, Sigma Tau Delta, The College Republican, and received the Ivey Leadership Award. She was also a Pew Younger Scholar to Notre Dame University.
Miss Kyles is employed as a teaching assistant in the history department and as a graduate student at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind.
Mr. Vanderwall is the grandson of Gene Goodman and the late Betty W. Goodman, and the late Darwin and Sylvia Vanderwall, all of Indiana.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Benton Central Junior/Senior High School and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He is pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering and technology at Purdue University.
While attending Purdue, his has been a member of the Mechanical Engineering and Technology Club and the Bass Fishing Club.
Mr. Vanderwall is an intern with Federal Mogul in Franklin, Ind.
A dinner reception will be held at the church following the ceremony.
Family and friends are invited to attend.
