Doyle Bryan and Judge Little teamed up to scorch the Northwood Country Club golf course for a 61 on Thursday during the qualifying round for the Bill Davis Memorial Fourth of July Tournament.
The next three days will feature flighted match-play action, with the champions begin crowned on Sunday.
Sixteen teams each make up the first five flights, with eight being in the other. The second-best rounds of the day were 63s recorded by the teams of Johnny Lang and Clay Long and Kelly Swain and Scott Morgan. After that came a 64 by Dan Singley and Winston Powell.
Each flight has the top-seed facing the No. 16 seed, the No. 2 seed taking on No. 15, etc., etc.
The championship, first and second flights all tee-off at 8:30 a.m. in a shotgun-start format, with the third, fourth and fifth flights teeing off at 1:30 p.m.
