Hales takes over as board president

Lauderdale County School Board member Robbie Hales took over as the board president after the resignation this week of Jimmy Gibson.
Fellow school board member Scott Sollie said Friday the change took place this week. And, he said, the board will not fill Gibson's slot until the regularly scheduled November election.
Gibson told the school board Monday about his resignation. A letter Gibson wrote said the resignation was because of a lack of cooperation with school administration to cut expenses.
Gibson also cited personal threats against him and his family.
Gibson could not be reached for comment.
