What Price Freedom' essay contest announced

In coordination with the Meridian Symphony Orchestra Association, The Meridian Star is sponsoring an essay contest for the Cellular South Fourth of July Pops Concert at Bonita Lakes.
The patriotic theme of the essay contest is "What Price Freedom" and written submissions should be a maximum of 600 words. A panel of judges will choose two essays to be printed in the July 4 edition of the newspaper and read at the Pops Concert that evening. The winners will also receive an engraved plaque to commemorate the event.
The essay contest is open to anyone; submissions must be received by 5 p.m. on Monday, July 1. Send or deliver your entry to:
