Shelley Carol Ford of Newton and James Daniel White of Magee were married Saturday, March 9, 2002, at Newton United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Robert Sharp of Bloomington, Ind., and Curtis Cain officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Daryl Ford of Newton, and Mr. and Mrs. Larry White of Magee.
Grandparents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Sharp of Meridian, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Ford.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Mrs. A.W. Stubbs of Magee and the late Mr. Stubbs, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph C. White.
Nuptial music was provided by Betty Browne, pianist; Kay Crenshaw, electric pianist; Lynn Ford, flutist; Crystal Duke and Ren O'Cain, vocalists.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a gown of white organza, with Venice lace appliqued to fashion the bodice. A full shirt trellised with beaded Venice appliques swept into a chapel-length train. Her veil of illusion edged in satin and dotted with pearls fell from a headpiece of clustered pearls.
Allegra Davis of Smyrna, Ga., attended her sister as matron of honor. Other attendants were Erica Balash of New Orleans, Tracy Barton of Newton, Lynn Ford of Slidell, La., sister-in-law of the bride, Jenny Herrington of Magee, sister of the bridegroom, and Rachel Mueller of Huntsville, Ala.
Junior bridesmaid was Julie White of Magee, sister of the bridegroom. Brittany White of Magee, niece of the bridegroom, was flower girl.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Groomsmen were John Davis, of Smyrna, brother-in-law of the bride, Stephen Ford of Slidell, brother of the bride, Rob Hataway of Brandon, Jade Herrington of Magee, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, and Jeff White of Magee, brother of the bridegroom.
Ushers were James Davis of Starkville and John East of Baton Rouge, La. Junior groomsman was Michael White of Magee, nephew of the bridegroom. Landon Herrington of Magee, nephew of the bridegroom, was ring bearer.
A reception was held in the church social hall following the ceremony. Rice bag attendants were Alyssa Barton of Newton and Hailey Nowell of Magee. Program attendants were Lisa McMurtrey and Lindsay McMurtrey.
Assisting at the reception were Charlotte Nowell, Brandy West and Shay Sims.
After a honeymoon in Napa Valley, Calif., the couple resides in Melbourne, Fla.
