Stanard, Eldridge

Cassandra Leanne Eldridge was married to William Chandler Stanard in a garden ceremony on Saturday, May 18, 2002, at 5 p.m. at the Grand Hotel in Point Clear, Ala. The Rev. Michael Eldridge officiated the double-ring ceremony.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Ray Eldridge of Lavaca, and Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Michael Stanard of Tuscaloosa, Ala.
The bride is the granddaughter of the late Elizabeth Lambert, the late Charles McAllister Loftis, Ms. Dwight Allen Eldridge and Vernon Eldridge of Butler, Ala.
The bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. James Arthur Cowden, Mrs. Daniel Chandler Stanard of Tuscaloosa and the late Mr. Stanard.
Nuptial music was provided by McKenzie Mesler of Mobile, harpist; and Glenn Spiller of Decatur, Ala., uncle of the bride, trumpeter.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of slim line organza over satin. The gown featured an asymmetrical drape with scattered Swarovski crystals and bugle beads connecting to the A-line skirt and finished with a sweep train. She wore a chapel-length organza veil and carried a clutch bouquet of white French tulips and white roses.
Mrs. Marvin Glass Jr. attended her sister as matron of honor. The bride's niece, Lauren Alexandra Glass was maid of honor.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. John Eric Busby of Mobile was groomsman.
Woodfin Ezell Glass, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer. The pillow he carried was sewn by the bride's grandmother, Ms. Eldridge. It was made from silk from Okinawa, given to the bride's mother from her brother.
A dinner reception was held at the hotel following the ceremony.
After a wedding trip to Mexico, the couple resides in Tuscaloosa.
