Participants in the American Soap Box Derby's Queen City Derby will have to wait a few extra hours before the big race today.
The derby, originally scheduled for 8:30 this morning, has been pushed back to 2 p.m. due to a funeral being held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
The change in time should not affect the speed or result of the race according to director Danny Hill. Drivers can begin getting their cars to the course about 1 p.m. The opening ceremony is set 1:30 p.m.
There is no admission to attend the race which will be run on 23rd Avenue, starting near the front of Central United Methodist and finishing at Ninth Street.
