Houston, Scales

Dr. and Mrs. James R. Houston of Vicksburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Theresa Katherine "Tracey," to Charles Webb Scales, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert David Scales of Meridian.
The wedding will be held Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, at 6 p.m. at the Church of the Holy Trinity Episcopal of Vicksburg.
Miss Houston is the granddaughter of Mrs. William A. Smith of Wheeler and the late Mr. Smith, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Love Houston of Richmond, Calif.
The bride-elect is a 1998 graduate of Warren Central High School and received a bachelor's degree in psychology, with a minor in business administration, from Millsaps College.
While attending Millsaps, she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority where she held a cabinet position, Executive Office of the Millsaps Programming Board. She was a member of the Student Body Association and served on Senate Committees. She was a Millsaps Student Ambassador and chairman of Scholars Visit Days. She was a member of Sigma Lambda Service and the Leadership Honor Society.
Miss Houston will be attending the University of Southern Mississippi where she is seeking a graduate degree in college and student personnel. She will be working as a graduate assistant for the Student Counseling and Activities Coordinator.
Mr. Scales is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. L.H. Scruggs of Tupelo, and the late Dr. and Mrs. James Webb Scales of Starkville.
The bridegroom-elect is a 1997 graduate of West Lauderdale High School and received a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Millsaps College.
While attending Millsaps, he was a member of Kappa Alpha Order, served as the ritualist and president of Tri-Chi Chemistry Honor Society. He was a Ford Foundation Teaching Fellow, a member of the Sigma Lambda Service and Leadership Honor Society and the Millsaps Singers and Chamber Singers.
Mr. Scales is employed by the University of Southern Mississippi where his a graduate research assistant working toward a Ph.D in polymer science and engineering.
A reception will be held at the B'Nai B'Rith Ballroom in Vicksburg.
