    Retired
    NEWTON Services for Charles Louis Dudley Sr. were held Thursday at 2 p.m. at St. Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Newton with the Rev. Billy R. Nichols officiating. Burial was held in the church cemetery. Progressive Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Dudley died Friday, May 17, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was born on Sept. 5, 1944 in St. Louis to Bennie and Issac Dudley. He moved to Jonesboro, Ark. and lived with his great-grandparents, Hettie and Robert Sills, while his father served in the military.
    Mr. Dudley confessed Christ at a young age and joined St. John Missionary Baptist Church of Jonesboro, Ark.
    He went to Booker T. Washington School. He later joined the United States Navy and was a member of the Navy Choir. He was involved in quartet singing. He married Wanda Bridgett in 1963, they had one son after returning to San Diego. He worked for the U.S. government at North Island for 15 years as a jet aircraft servicer.
    He was a master mason and was the Grand Lecture of the State of California, a noble of the Mystic Shrine, a Scottish Rite Mason and a grand Inspector General 33 degrees.
    After moving to Mississippi, he was employed with Bonhomme, La-Z-Boy, and ESCO, where he retired in May 2001.
    Mr. Dudley joined the St. Hill Missionary Baptist Church of Newton, where he served as deacon. He was also a member of the St. Hill Male Chorus.
    Survivors include his wife, Doris Dudley of Newton; son, Charles L. Dudley Jr. and his wife, Holly, of San Diego; a daughter Yaminah Dudley of Newton; an adopted son, Ellis Dudley and his wife, Charlene, of San Diego; two step-sons, Kevin Johnson of Hickory and Keith Johnson, of Newton; a step-daughter, Karen Morgan of Newton, grandchildren, Renae and Domique Dudley of California; his mother, Bennie Foulks and his step-father, Robert Foulks of Little Rock, Ark., a sister, Cheryl Foulks of Dallas; four brothers-in-law, Otis Boulton and his wife, Ann, Jessie Boulton and his wife, Lynn, both of Chicago, James Boulton and his wife,Mary, of Hickory, and Linton Boulton of Chicago; one aunt, Ruth Perry and her husband, James, of St. Louis; a niece, Bria Williams of Dallas; a cousin, Louis Sills of Canton and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his father.
    Pallbearers were Charles Dudley Jr., Ellis Dudley, Kevin Johnson, Marvin Munn, Robert Foulks, and Glenn Johnson. Honorary pallbearers were James P. Moore, Archie Moore, Charles Wash, Lonnie Chapman, Finas Evans, and Clody Hardy. Flower bearers were his cousins and friends.

    Services for Gwendolyn M. Trawick will be held today at 11:30 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Dr. Malcolm Lewis and Paul Davis officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
    Mrs. Trawick, 79, of Meridian, died Thursday, May 30, 2002, in her home. She was a member of Northcrest Baptist Church and a retired nurse from Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
    Survivors include her daughter, Marsha Harrell and her husband, Keevin, of Benton, La.; a son, Terry Trawick and his wife, Sue, of Meridian; a sister, Kathryn Jennings of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; a brother, Eugene Dearman of Pascagoula; six grandchildren, Delita Waldron, Rhonda Peek, Tyler Harrell, Stephen Trawick, Kevin Trawick and Susan Bounds; and seven great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Trawick.
    Memorials may be made to Northcrest Baptist Church Building Fund or the church library.
    Pallbearers will be Bobby Trawick, Bill Trawick, Wesley Trawick, Tim Trawick, Tommy Williams, Jerry Harris, Allen Morgan, Mitch Peek and Don Waldron Jr.
    DOROTHY C. BRANTON

    Services for Dorothy C. "Jean" Branton will be held today at 1:30 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Followell officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Branton, 76, Meridian, died Thursday, May 30, 2002, at Riley Hospital. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
    Survivors include her father, Marvin R. Calder of Magee; two sons, Larry Branton and his wife, Judy, of Azle, Texas, Wayne Branton and his wife, Sophie, of Cordova, Tenn.; two daughters, Patty Hall and her husband, Hebo, of Dexter, Mo., and Diann Crane and her husband, Jimbo, of Meridian; a brother, Brian Calder of Magee; 10 grandchildren, Christy Thrasher, Lesia Cramblitt, Stacy Yalacki, Melissa Branton, Justin Branton, Bo Hall, Katie Hall, Angela Hall, Abby Crane and Alexa Crane; three great-grandchildren, Jake Thrasher, Bryce Yalacki and Carter Yalacki.
    She was preceded in death by her mother, Maude Calder and her husband, Shelbey Earl Branton.
    Pallbearers will be, Bo Hall, Hebo Hall, Justin Branton, Robby Warren, Jimbo Crane, Brian McKee and Steven Reid.
    Visitation will be today 30 minutes prior to service at the church.

    Services for Bessie Boyd will be held today at 3 p.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Taylor Wallace and Glenn Brister officiating. Burial will be in the Enterprise Cemetery.
    Mrs. Boyd, 100, of Enterprise, died Wednesday, May 29, 2002, in Meridian. She was a member of Stonewall Baptist Church.
    Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy Moore and her husband, Lamar, of Enterprise; a brother Howard Boyd, of Northport, Ala.; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Goldman, Sara Elizabeth Phillips Goldman; brothers James, Johnny, Clarence and Arthur Goldman Sr.;sisters, Irene Hudson, Claudie Wilkins and Ethel Gunter; and her husband, John William Boyd.
    Pallbearers will be Charles Griffin, Leo Gunter, R. L. Smith, Robert Laudel Williams, Ronnie Goldman, and Ronnie Weiss.
