The body of a Meridian man was found at the bottom of a pool at a local apartment complex Sunday after apparently suffering a seizure during a late-night swim.
Lauderdale County Deputy Coroner Clayton Cobler said Dana Payton, 23, was swimming by himself around 9 p.m. at Okatibbee Ridge Apartments when "from all indications, he had a seizure and sank to the bottom of the pool."
Cobler said Payton apparently had a history of seizures and almost drowned in a similar accident last year.
Tammy Striebeck, who manages Okatibbee Ridge Apartments, said Payton lived at the apartment complex with his mother.
Detective Deano Harper, a Meridian Police Department spokesman, said officers will be investigating the accident.
