Lewis tourney almost here

There is still time to enter one of the more unique tournament formats on the local golf scene. The Ed Lewis Memorial Day Tournament will tee off for its three-day run on Saturday at Northwood Country Club. The tournament will conclude on Memorial Day.
Northwood Country Club pro Jimmy Gamblin said a strong field of at least 60 to 70 teams is expected for the three-round tournament.
For Saturday's opening round, play will be conducted in a straight four-ball format. On Sunday in round two, teams will play in a scramble format.
The final round will see an alternate ball format.
Entry fee for the tournament is $200 per team. Play will begin with a shotgun start on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. and again at 1:30 p.m. A steak buffet will be held on Saturday night from 6:30 to 10 p.m.
Juniors, 17-and-under, will be allowed to play provided they were on a varsity team this spring and will play with someone aged 21 or older.
