There is still time to enter one of the more unique tournament formats on the local golf scene. The Ed Lewis Memorial Day Tournament will tee off for its three-day run on Saturday at Northwood Country Club. The tournament will conclude on Memorial Day.
Northwood Country Club pro Jimmy Gamblin said a strong field of at least 60 to 70 teams is expected for the three-round tournament.
For Saturday's opening round, play will be conducted in a straight four-ball format. On Sunday in round two, teams will play in a scramble format.
The final round will see an alternate ball format.
Entry fee for the tournament is $200 per team. Play will begin with a shotgun start on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. and again at 1:30 p.m. A steak buffet will be held on Saturday night from 6:30 to 10 p.m.
Juniors, 17-and-under, will be allowed to play provided they were on a varsity team this spring and will play with someone aged 21 or older.
