    Services for Della Lofton will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Little Hope Baptist Church in Toomsuba with Bro. Lamar Smith officiating. Burial will be in Little Hope Cemetery with Berry and Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Lofton, 67, of Toomsuba, died Tuesday, May 7, 2002, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
    Survivors include her husband Primus Lofton of Toomsuba; a daughter, Minnie Lofton of Detroit; three sons, Calvin Lofton of Detroit, James and Mack Lofton, both of Toomsuba; two sisters, Louise Ratcliffe of Ackron, Ohio, and Earline Lofton of Toomsuba; five brothers, Tommie Jean White of Buffalo, N.Y., Robert James White of Trenton, N.J., Alfred White of Kenton, Ark., Alfonso White of Ackron, Ohio, and Hersey Eugene White of Detroit; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
    Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
    ANNIE SHAW
    Services for Annie Shaw will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Barham Chapel. Burial will be in Oak Grove-Bonita Community Cemetery with Barham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Shaw, 84, of Meridian, died Saturday, May 11, 2002, at Guardian Angel Hospice.
    Visitation will be today from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    CHARLES H. BIRDSONG
    Retired
    Graveside services for Charles H. Birdsong will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with the Rev. David McCubbin officiating. Stephens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Birdsong, 84, of Meridian, died Thursday, May 9, 2002, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
    He was a retired U.S. Navy commander who served three tours of duty as a naval pilot in the South Pacific during World War II. He was awarded the WWII Victory Medal, American Area Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, American Defense Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
    He was also a retired Federal Aviation Administration inspector.
    Survivors include his wife Doris L. Birdsong of Meridian; a son, Charles Birdsong III and his wife Joan of Fayetteville, Ga.; a daughter, Jeanne Gunnell and her husband Jim of Reno, Nev.; two grandchildren, Eric and Trevor Birdsong, both of Fayetteville; four step-children, Dena Haugh and her husband Skip of Dowelltown, Tenn., Dale Sartin, Christy Ebert and Richard Colston, all of Houston, Texas.
    The family requests that memorials be made to Hope Village for Children, Love's Kitchen or the organization of choice.
    Pallbearers will be H.G. Weddington, G.V. "Sonny" Montgomery, George Rea, Mark Porter, Fletcher Rosenbaum, David Rosenbaum, Eric Birdsong and Trevor Birdsong.
    Visitation will be today from 3 p.m.-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
    BILLIE WAYNE LEWIS
    QUITMAN Services for Billie Wayne Lewis will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. James Irby and Roger Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Corinth Assembly of God Church Cemetery.
    Mr. Lewis, 58, of Quitman, died Thursday, May 9, 2002, at St. Dominic Memorial Hospital in Jackson.
    Survivors include his wife Barbara Lewis of Quitman; his mother, Vera Inez Lewis of Quitman; a son, Billie Wayne Lewis Jr.; a daughter, Belinda Lewis Ramage of Greenwood; four brothers, David Lewis of Quitman, Carroll Lewis of Meridian, Roger Lewis of Quitman, and Danny Lewis of Meridian; three sisters, Diane Mayfield of Tulsa, Okla., Donna Schrimpshire of Quitman, and Renee Lewis of Quitman; and four grandchildren.
    Visitation will be today after 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
    JOHN KENNETH BOYD

    NEWTON Services for John Kenneth Boyd will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Charles Bonner and John West officiating. Burial will be in Newton County Memorial Gardens.
    Mr. Boyd, 71, of Newton, died Saturday, May 11, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
    Survivors include his wife, Peggy Johnson Boyd of Newton; two daughters, Brenda Embrey and Teresa Lynn Gay, both of Newton; a son, William Earl Boyd of Newton; six grandchildren, Jessica and Jason Boyd, both of Newton, Thomas and Johnny James, Brenda Russell and Daniel Gay; and one brother, Richard L. Boyd of Newton.
    He was preceded in death by his parents John and Lillian Orouke Boyd.
    Pallbearers will be Joey Kundl, Joey Caperillo, Wilder Burks, Tommy Burks, Randy Wall, Jake Wall, Johnny Johnson and Sam Bounds.
    Visitation will be today from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    ROBERT HALE HAYNIE

    YORK, Ala. Graveside services for Robert Hale "Bob" Haynie will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at York Cemetery with Bumpers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Haynie, 67, of Albertville, died Saturday, May 11, 2002, at his residence.
    Survivors include his wife, Helen Appleton Haynie, of Albertville; two sons, Tom and Shelton Haynie, both of Atlanta, Ga.; two brothers, Bill Haynie of Montrose, and Warren Haynie of Nashville, Tenn.; a sister, Virginia Williams of Demopolis; and three grandchildren.
    The family requests that memorials be made to the York Cemetery Fund.
    Visitation will be Monday from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
    MARVALEAN SIMIEN

    Services for Marvalean Simien will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at East Galilee Baptist Church in Rose Hill. Burial will be in East Galilee Cemetery with Berry and Gardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Simien, 69, of Quitman, died Tuesday, May 7, 2002, at The Specialty Hospital of Meridian.
    Survivors include her nine daughters, Betty Bester of Stonewall, Brenda Bester and Linda Thomas, both of Quitman, Mary Ella Bester of Meridian, Katie King of Quitman, Daisy Thomas and Rosie Chapman, both of Enterprise, Vider Pope of Quitman, and Mary Burns of Enterprise; three step-daughters, Betty Sue Williams of Quitman, Berdia Bester of Denver, and Dale Sanders of Enterprise; three sons, Steve, Henry and Dennis Bester, all of Stonewall; her mother, Mary Duke Sanders of Enterprise; six sisters, Carolyn Gates, Mary Bowie and Katie Mae Scott, all of Enterprise, Ernestine Chapman of Paulding, Nora Lee Marshall of Shiloh, and Rosie Lee Edwards of Ohio; seven brothers, Henry Sanders of Shiloh, Tom Sanders of Enterprise, Marvin Sanders of Somerset, N.J., H.B. and John Sanders, both of New Brunswick, N.J., Marshall Sanders of Columbus, Ohio, and Arzell Davis of Quitman; 28 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
    Visitation will be Monday from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
    TIMOTHY E. BARNES
    WEST HAVEN, Conn. Services for Timothy E. Barnes will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
    Mr. Barnes, 59, of West Haven, Conn., died Wednesday, May 8, 2002, at his home.
    He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., and attended Meridian Public Schools and Alcorn State University.
    Survivors include his wife Minnie Barnes; four daughters, Kimberly Lark and her husband Jack of Macomb, Mich., Rosalind Barnes of Meridian, Velma Woodard and her husband Robert of Columbus, Miss., and Aishia Barnes of Jackson, Miss.; two sons, Tarik and Taborik Barnes, both of West Haven; eight grandchildren; special friends, Barbara Barnes, Robert Barnett and Theodore Price.
    He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Needham and Mable Madge Barnes.
