United Way hits its goal for 2002

United Way of East Mississippi surpassed its fund-raising goal for this year with a record-setting contribution of $50,000.
Williams, an international energy firm based in Tulsa, Okla., is scheduled to present the check today. The contribution brings the local fund-raising total to $768,000, $3,000 more than this year's goal.
Williams workers raised money for United Way chapters in counties through which the company's gas lines run. A Williams gas line runs through Lauderdale County, from New York to Houston.
The United Way of East Mississippi helps provide financial help to 18 agencies, like the Salvation Army, the Boy Scouts of America and the Wesley House.
