Greene County ousts Philly in 3A playoffs

LEAKESVILLE Homestanding Greene County scored in every inning but one to take a 7-0 win over Philadelphia High School in the third and final game of the second round of the MHSAA Class 3A Baseball Playoffs.
With the win Greene County, 31-5, advances to take on Purvis in the South State finals.
Philadelphia, 19-11, was held to four hits on the night.
Dustin Eubanks (6-0) picked up the win on the hill for Greene County, while Hunter Holley took the loss.
The winners had eight hits and committed one error, while PHS committed three errors.
Philly won the first game in the series.
