Causeyville Raceway starts season tonight

After spending hours upon hours servicing their go-carts, its finally time for the drivers to display their talents on the track. Tonight marks the opening night of race season at Causeyville Raceway.
People are expected to come from all around to visit Causeyville Raceway for the go-cart races.
When long-time racer Bill Moffett was asked if he was ready for the 2002 season, he simply replied like this. "I'm 50-years-old, and their isn't a 10-year-old more excited than I am."
Moffett finished second in the points last year, after rolling off nine consecutive wins. Troy Roberts took first place in the points last year, but Roberts has chosen to take the year off to spend time with his new baby.
With Roberts out of the picture, Moffett has his work cut for him to take first place in the points. However, one man could stand in his way. Mike Palmiter. Palmiter took third last year in the points, but he still has a shot at becoming the points winner this season.
When you think of go-carts, 30- and 40-year-old men don't always cross your mind. However, the older guys get their chance just like the younger ones.
The racers will be divided into eight classes, with approximately twelve carts in each class. Each class will run two heat races of 10 laps, followed by a 15-lap feature race.
In the stock-heavy class, be on the look out for Moffett, Palmiter, and Scott Williams. The stock-medium class will see Anthony Rawson and Andy Pippin battle out. The stock-light class will feature Peter Warren and Chris Hayes. Pippin also looks to run the show in the Limited-Modified Class. Tyler Creel will look to have his way with the carts in Rookie I, while Kyle Followell looks to dominated the Rookie II Division. Amanda Rawson and Davey Massey will battle for the Junior 3 Division Title also.
The gates will open at 4 p.m., with the first race slated for 7 p.m.
