    HULDA SIMS WESTBROOK
    Retired hairdresser
    Services for Hulda Sims Westbrook were held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Frank Tribble officiating. Burial was in Old Marion Cemetery.
    Mrs. Westbrook, 87, of Russell, died Monday, April 1, 2002, at Heartfelt Hospice. She was a member of Russell Baptist Church.
    Survivors include a daughter, Edna Massey and her husband, Raymond; two granddaughters, Lisa Roberson and her husband, Jerry, and Lori Anthony and her husband, Scott; five great-grandchildren, Haleigh, Reagan and Paige Anthony, Joshua and Allie Roberson; cousins and best friends, Julian and Clora Westbrook; and many friends from the Russell Community.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Mauris Earl Westbrook; three sisters and four brothers.
    Pallbearers were Rob Calcote, T.W. Calcote, Jerry Roberson, Scott Anthony, Paul James and Irvin Mooney.
    EDNA RUTH CARLISLE

    QUITMAN Services for Edna Ruth Carlisle will be held today at 10 a.m. at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ricky Carlisle officiating. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
    Mrs. Carlisle, 67, of Quitman, died Wednesday, April 3, 2002, at Heartfelt Hospice.
    Survivors include a daughter, Judy Kirkland of Pachuta; a brother, Charles Tucker of Quitman; and a sister, Sharon Eldridge of Laurel.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Rosier and Dora Tucker; her husband, Tollie V. Carlisle; a son, Vicky Carlisle; a brother, R.E. Tucker; and two sisters, Pearl Haney and Bobbie Williams.
    NELDA JONES MANLEY

    QUITMAN Services for Nelda Jones Manley will be held today at 2 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. James K. Williams and Gene Hickenbocker officiating. Burial will be in Chapparell Cemetery in Wayne County.
    Mrs. Manley, 54, of Meridian, died Wednesday, April 3, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
    Survivors include her husband, Lamar Manley and a son, Adam White of Meridian; a daughter, Didi Williams of Brandon; her father, Roscoe Jones of Shubuta; brothers, Jerry Jones and Robin Jones of Shubuta and Jimmy Jones of Pachuta; a sister, Patsy Rankin of Brandon; grandchildren, Sam and Shelby Williams of Brandon and Jenna White of Meridian.
    She was preceded in death by her mother, Gladys Jones.
    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
    HUGH D. HARRISON
    Retired sewing machine mechanic and shirt factory worker
    UNION Services for Hugh D. Harrison will be held today at 2 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Reggie Williams and Jim Jones officiating. Burial will be in Union City Cemetery.
    Mr. Harrison, 75, of Union, died Wednesday, April 3, 2002, at Riley Hospital. He served and fought in the Navy for four years during World War II.
    Survivors include three daughters, Linda Ladd, Sharon Allen, and Deborah McCann and her husband, David, all of Union; four sisters, Jessie Hicks of Magnolia, Ark.; Doxie Creel of Walnut Grove; Martha Leach of Forest; and Imogene Fisher of Union; two brothers, William "Billy" Harrison Jr. of Philadelphia; Albert Harrison of Collinsville; three grandchildren, Angela Harris, Monica Allen and Candi McCann; one great-grandchild, Dakota Harris.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Johnny Wolverton Harrison and his grandson, Neal Ladd.
    Visitation will be today from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
    REV. L.B. SIMMONS
    Retired minister and college professor
    NEWTON Services for the Rev. L.B. Simmons will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Stan Buckley and Gus Merritt officiating. Burial will be in Newton County Memorial Gardens.
    The Rev. Simmons, 89, of Decatur, died Wednesday, April 3, 2002, at his home. He was born Feb. 15, 1913, in Louin and was the son of Sudie Simmons. He taught school at East Central Community College and served as pastor to several local Baptist churches in the area.
    Rev. Simmons graduated Mississippi College, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and the University of Alabama.
    Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Molly Simmons of Decatur; two daughters, Nancy Jo Self and her husband, David, of Birmingham, Ala.; and Judi Valentine and her husband, Butch, of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; a step-son, George Hayes and his wife, Lynn, of Decatur; two sisters, Dean Morgan and Cleo Smith, both of Bay Springs; three brothers, Cleston Simmons of Meridian; Lowry Simmons of Pensacola, Fla.; and Brad Simmons of Mobile, Ala.; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Oral and George Travis and his wife, Alyne R. Simmons.
