COLLINSVILLE Daniel Stewart's right arm resembled a buzzsaw Tuesday night, and Northeast Lauderdale batters just kept running into it. West Lauderdale's starting pitcher struck out 12 and walked none to pick up the win to lead the Knights to a 4-0 victory over the visiting Trojans. He went the distance and gave up just three hits.
Neil Davis twirled a complete game six-hitter and Chris Knight slapped a two-out, two-run double in the third inning to lead the Lamar Raiders to a 4-1 victory over Leake Academy Tuesday night. With the win, the Raiders improve to 10-6 on the year, and 1-0 in Academy 3-AAA play. Once he got the lead, Davis slammed the door on the Rebels, retiring five of the last six batters he faced, including four by strikeout. The Lamar senior outdueled Leake's Dennis McDill, who allowed just five hits, but allowed three earned runs over six innings.

Clay Bounds
One of the strengths of the Lamar School golf program is its ability to get and improve young golfers. One such player is seventh-grader Clay Bounds.
Bounds played last week as a B-teamer in the Lamar Golf Classic at Northwood Country Club. While he had a tough day in the Lamar Tournament, Bounds recently shot his career best round on the course.
That's not the case for one of his favorites, No. 17 at Northwood.
