In honor of March being Red Cross Month, a new Beanie Baby named "America" has been designed for the American Red Cross.
The plush, white bear has a U.S. flag embroidered close to its heart. It has flag colored ears and a red, white and blue ribbon around its neck.
Cheri Barry, executive director of the local American Red Cross Key Chapter, said Ty Inc., creators of the Beanie Baby bear, will donate 100 percent of the profits to Red Cross chapters distributed based on the purchasers' zip codes.
The Beanie Baby is a second edition "America" bear. It follows the blue "America" bear created by Ty, which raised $1.1 million for Red Cross disaster relief.
