Knights down Tornadoes

The West Lauderdale Knights improved to 4-1 on the season, Tuesday night with a frigid, 7-3 win over the visiting Philadelphia Tornadoes.
West Lauderdale head coach Jerry Boatner said he was not happy with the way his team was hitting the ball, but he has noticed something about his team.
The Tornadoes used the cold weather to their advantage in the first inning, when the lead-off batter, Tyler Threadgill, left the park for a solo home run.
After a strike out by WL pitcher, Trent Posey, the next four Tornado batters were walked. With the walks, Dustin Turner crossed the plate to put the Tornadoes up 2-0.
The game was scoreless from the bottom of the first inning to the bottom of the fourth inning.
The Knights came into the bottom of the fourth inning, with scoring in mind, as they rallied for two runs to tie the score at 2-2.
Richie McAllister had a lead-off double to start the inning off right. Bo Davis reached first base on an error by the Tornadoes. McAllister scored on the error. Caleb Dulaney hit a sacrifice fly ball to the out field to score Davis.
The Tornadoes scored their final run of the game in the top of the fifth inning, to make the score 3-2.
West Lauderdale answered the call in the bottom of the fifth inning, when Trent Posey cleared the bases for a three-run shot over the left field wall to make the score 5-3. McAllister later reached on an error, and was driven in by Jeremiah Lovett with the successful squeeze bunt. McAllister's run made the score 6-3.
The final run of the night came when Randy Dively reached base on a walk. Two pitches later. Dively was at third, due to a clean stolen base and a passed ball. Dively was driven in by Posey's double.
The Knights were led at the plate by Posey with a single, double, and a home run. He also tallied four RBI's.
The Tornadoes were led at the plate by Threadgill with a single and a home run.
Posey recorded the win for the Knights, while Hunter Holley dropped to 0-1 on the season. Posey allowed three runs on four hits. He walked seven batters and fanned seven batters.
Philadelphia dropped to 2-3 on the year with the loss.
Both teams will be in action Friday when West Lauderdale will host Newton County and Philadelphia hosts Heidelberg.
