Meridian police stopped a motorist Tuesday evening who was possibly involved in a three-car accident earlier in the day.
Three adults and five children were treated and released from Rush Foundation Hospital after sustaining injuries from the accident on Highway 39 North. Police did not identify any of the individuals, although a spokesman said one was a six to eight month-old infant.
Having obtained a description of the vehicle, police remained on the lookout during the afternoon for another driver who left the scene of the accident.
One of the vehicles involved included a cab whose driver was one of the adults treated at the hospital.
The cab was reportedly not carrying a passenger at the time of the accident.
