EMCC student, instructor head to Jackson

An East Mississippi Community College student from the Scooba campus and an instructor from the Golden Triangle campus will be recognized today by the state Legislature when they visit the Capitol.
Student Morgan McPhail and instructor Zelma Fulgham have been chosen as the college's Higher Education Appreciation Day/Working for Academic Excellence representatives.
The two will join 74 students and faculty members from 38 Mississippi public and private universities and colleges in receiving special recognition from the state House and Senate.
The honorees will visit the state Capitol, take a tour of the historic building and attend an awards luncheon at the Clarion Hotel in Jackson.
HEADWAE was established in 1988 to honor individual academic achievement. It is sponsored by the Mississippi Legislature and supported by the state's corporate community.
McPhail is a political science major, president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and president of the Student Government Association.
She is a member of Student Christian Fellowship and is on the president's list and the National Dean's List. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark McPhail of Collinsville.
Fulgham, a business technology instructor, resides in Starkville.
