The Question …
On Dec. 12, 1998, Ole Miss won a men's basketball game 111-50, winning the game by 61 points. It was the largest margin of victory ever for the Rebels. Who did Ole Miss beat?

The 2001 Division 7-2A Boys Tournament kicked off Monday night with a bang as Morton ended Enterprise's season with a 75-46 whipping, while Bay Springs shot the lights out in the night's final game to claim a 787-55 victory over Richton.
Last Friday night Carthage Lady Tigers head coach Jason Gentry was intent on stopping the scoring juggernaut of Southeast Lauderdale's Monique Horner. To a degree it worked, as Horner was held to 17 points. But in Monday's opening round of the Division 5-3A Tournament, his plan backfired, as Horner dropped in 29 points, in about 20 minutes of work. The overall result was the same, however, as Southeast improved to 26-7 by rolling to an 84-56 first round win.

DECATUR With this being one of the most pressure-packed weeks of the high school basketball season, it's important to get off to a good start. Both Kemper County and Morton did just that in Division 5-3A Tournament action at East Central Community College Wednesday, and both advanced. Top-seeded Morton drilled Newton County 9 -59, while Kemper got past Cinderella Raleigh 73-50. The pair will now meet for the division championship Friday at 7:45 p.m.
West Jones jumped out to a 10-2 lead Wednesday against West Lauderdale and kept the Knights at arm's length all night, cruising to a 76-48 victory in the first round of the Division 5-4A tournament at Northeast Lauderdale.

The Northeast Lady Trojans saw their season come to a close in the Division 5-4A tournament at Jones County Junior College Wednesday night. Northeast Jones extended its winning streak to four games with a 39-37 win over Northeast Lauderdale. The Lady Trojans missed a layup at the buzzer that would have sent the game into overtime.
OXFORD Mississippi had a win over Southeast Conference foe Florida almost in hand, but let it slip away. Still, there were few regrets in the locker room after the Gators slipped away with a 86-84 overtime victory Wednesday night. Florida went ahead 85-84 on Dan Cross' 10-foot jump shot with 26 seconds left in overtime. Ole Miss missed a shot that would have given them the lead, but got another chance when Florida's Stacy Poole only made only one of two free throws to give the Gators the 86-84 lead.
