Meridian police Saturday charged Jerome Alan Earl with capital murder in the shooting death of a Meridian man three days ago.
Jerome Alan Earl, 41, of 8144 Barnhill road was taken into custody without incident at his home just hours after the murder on Wednesday.
Earl is charged in the shooting death of Denardo Saffold, 21, of 5808 40th Court, who was found Wednesday on the ground outside his vehicle at 35th Avenue and 23rd Street. He had been shot in the head and later died at a local hospital, Harper said.
Harper said there is no bond with a capital murder charge and no other arrests are expected at this time. The Meridian Police Department is still asking for anyone who might have information about this case to call CrimeStoppers at 485-1860, or log onto the website at crimestoppers911.tripod.com
