Police report second homicide of the year

A 21-year-old black man was found dead Wednesday at the corner of 35th Avenue and 23rd Street, Meridian Police reported today.
Meridian police said that Denardo Saffold, 21, of 5808 40th Court, died of a gunshot wound to the head.
Detective Deano Harper, MPD spokesman, said police received the call at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. He said no arrests have been made and the case is under investigation.
