DECATUR Senior Andrea Ruffin powered in a game-high 24 points and eighth-grader Monique Horner tossed in an additional 19 points as Southeast Lauderdale's Lady Tigers defeated the Lady Cougars of Newton County 65-49 Tuesday night for a crucial division 5-3A victory.
Teresa Ramsey tallied 12 points and Ashley Taylor added nine more Tuesday night as the home standing Wayne County High Lady War Eagles defeated the Quitman High Lady Panthers 45-40 in girls prep basketball action.
Ken Russell tallied 17 points and Chris Hunt scored 14 as the Cougars of Newton County cruised past the Tigers of Southeast Lauderdale 77-54 for an important Division 5-3A victory Tuesday night, despite a game-high 23-point scoring performance by SEL's Johnny Hopson.

COLLINSVILLE West Lauderdale played host to its cross-county neighbors from Clarkdale and came away with a split in the two basketball games played Tuesday night. The Lady Knights won going away with a 61-33 win over the Lady Bulldogs while Clarkdale went to the wire beating West Lauderdale 58-55.
Tabitha Price, the senior guard for the Lady Trojans of Northeast, scored five points in the final seven seconds of regulation to send the game into overtime, and Northeast Lauderdale's ladies held on for a 55-54 thriller over the Lady Wildcats of Kemper County.

Dicenzo Miller from Weir High School had 118 touchdowns in his prep career. He also holds the number one and number four spot on the most touchdowns in a single season' list with 47 and 42 respectively. Miller just finished up his senior year as Mississippi State's premier running back.
Weir has won five state championships, the most in the state, tied with Louisville and Moss Point.
Weir won three of the five with Miller in the backfield.

Miranda Rosar
Miranda Rosar has been playing high basketball for the Neshoba Central Lady Rockets for the past four years.
Rosar is a senior at Neshoba Central High School, where she will graduate in May.
After graduation, Rosar hopes to continue her basketball skills at East Central Community College.
Rosars' hope for the future?
Rosar is the daughter of John and Laura Rosar of Philadelphia.
