STARKVILLE Richard Williams knew going into Saturday afternoon's matchup with LSU, that the Tigers' center Shaquille O'Neal had a habit of breaking down the opposition's game plan. And that is exactly what the 7-1, 294-pounder did to the Bulldogs, as LSU won on the road in Starkville 83-70.
OXFORD With 10 seconds left in overtime here Saturday, Joday Adams point guard of the 2nd-ranked Lady Vols missed a short jump shot that could have broken a 78-78 tie. Instead, the 10th-ranked Lady Rebels' Clara Jackson pulled down the rebound, and dumped it off to Jackie Martin, who raced the length of the court to convert a jumper in the lane that fell through as time expired.
The Answer …
No, it wasn't Bo Jackson. Running back Joe Cribbs scored five touchdowns in Auburn's 49-7 win over Vanderbilt on Oct. 14, 1978 to account for 30 of his team's points.
