Johnson, Hammett

Helene Gwendolyn Hammett and John O'Neil Johnson III, both of Austin, Texas, were married Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001, in Seaside, Fla., with the Rev. Houseman officiating.
Parents of the couple are Neva Rush and John O'Neil Johnson Jr., both of Meridian; Harold and Jackie Hammett of Lexington.
Grandparents of the bride are Mrs. Harold Pinkney Hammett Sr. of Lexington and the late Mr. Hammett; Evelyn Forney of San Antonio, Texas, and the late Bill Forney Sr.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are Joyce Rush of Meridian and the late Dr. H. Lowry Rush Jr., Gift Johnson of Meridian and the late John O'Neil Johnson.
The bride wore an off-white raw silk strapless gown enhanced with a sheer veil.
Jacquelyn Kendall Allen of Austin was flower girl.
A reception was held on the beach following the ceremony. After a honeymoon in Seaside, the couple resides in Austin.
