Tickets sales for Lamar Raider football may very well increase beginning today. That's because the other shoe dropped Wednesday when the school officially introduced Meridian High Athletic Director Mac Barnes as its new head football coach, putting to rest any speculation as to where Barnes might end up. CLINTON Jeremy Ruffin and Mario Hill didn't get a chance to play for a state championship while suiting up for the Meridian High School football team. But their hard work didn't go unnoticed. When Antonio McDyess limps, he isn't himself. And when McDyess isn't himself, the Quitman Panthers become an average basketball team. In the end the Meridian Wildcats took advantage of a team that played the better part of Friday night as a McDyess-less outfit and defeated the Panthers for the first time in three tries this season, a 72-58 victory at Meridian High school.
