Thursday: St. Paul Episcopal Church's chamber music series continues with a performance by organist David Benson. The program begins at 12:05 p.m., and will conclude at 12:50 p.m.
Jan. 14-20: The Meridian Little Theatre will present its youth production of "The Princess and the Magic Pea." For more information, call 482-6371.
Jan. 17: Meridian Community College presents "The Poet Warrior: Jolivette Anderson," as part of its "Fantastick" Arts &Letters Series. In conjunction with MCC's Martin Luther King Jr. celebration, African-American activist, poet, performance artist and youth leader Jolivette Anderson will present a morning lecture, "Inspired by the Movement." Her evening performance features musicians, dance, drama and vocalists. It will be held at the McCain Theater. Admission. For more information call 484-8696.
Jan. 21: The 3rd Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade and Celebration will be held in downtown Meridian. The parade is scheduled for noon. The King Commemoration Program is at 1 p.m. For more information call 482-2800.
Jan. 25: The Meridian Symphony Orchestra will hold its third concert of the season. Included on the program are selections by Wagner, Copeland, Rossini, Grofe, Villa-Lobos, Humperdinck and Strauss in a program designed to introduce families to the symphony orchestra and symphonic music. The concert is scheduled to begin at at 7:30 p.m. For more information call 693-2224.
Jan. 24-26: Sandy Ridge Bluegrass Camp and Jam is three days of bluegrass and gospel music and camping. It will be held on highway 45 South behind Clarkdale School. Camping fees only are charged. 693-2996 or 482-0421.
