Thursday: St. Paul Episcopal Church's chamber music series continues with a performance by organist David Benson. The program begins at 12:05 p.m., and will conclude at 12:50 p.m.

Jan. 17: Meridian Community College presents "The Poet Warrior: Jolivette Anderson," as part of its "Fantastick" Arts &Letters Series. In conjunction with MCC's Martin Luther King Jr. celebration, African-American activist, poet, performance artist and youth leader Jolivette Anderson will present a morning lecture, "Inspired by the Movement." Her evening performance features musicians, dance, drama and vocalists. It will be held at the McCain Theater. Admission. For more information call 484-8696.
Jan. 21: The 3rd Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade and Celebration will be held in downtown Meridian. The parade is scheduled for noon. The King Commemoration Program is at 1 p.m. For more information call 482-2800.
Jan. 25: The Meridian Symphony Orchestra will hold its third concert of the season. Included on the program are selections by Wagner, Copeland, Rossini, Grofe, Villa-Lobos, Humperdinck and Strauss in a program designed to introduce families to the symphony orchestra and symphonic music.
