Minister
Services for the Rev. Clay Cooley will be held today at 2 p.m. at Goodwater Baptist Church with the Revs. Wayne Campbell, Phillip Gandy and Jerry Gressett officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with Stephens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Cooley, 52, of Hickory, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, in his home. He served as pastor of Goodwater Baptist Church for 10 years, preceded by pastoral tenures at Herbert, Sand Springs, Enon, Warsaw (Louisiana), Liberty and Charity.
Mr. Cooley also served as a supervisor of maintenance and grounds for La-Z Boy South. He was a retired master sergeant from the 186th Air Refueling Wing of the Air National Guard. During his Guard service, Cooley received the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon and the Air Force Training Ribbon.
He served in the 3rd Battalion, First Marines, in 1969 including a tour of duty in Vietnam. During his Marine service, Cooley received the Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Cross of Gallantry, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Combat Action Ribbon.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Cooley of Hickory; two daughters, Michele Robinson and her husband, Ronnie, of Hickory, and Crystal Willis and her husband Jason, of Chunky; a son, Shannon Cooley and his wife, Stephanie, of Hickory; his mother, Mary Embrey Cooley of Hickory; his paw paw, Albert Clay Embrey of Chunky; mother-in-law, Gladys Snowden of Chunky; a sister, Chris Joiner and her husband, Gary, of Hickory; a special cousin, Bertie Lindley and her husband, Austin, of Hickory; two sisters-in-law, Sandra Todd and her husband, Ferrell, of Brandon and Janice Yates and her husband, Larry, of Conehatta; five grandchildren, Clay Cooley, Melissa Robinson, Tyler Robinson, Samantha Cooley and Cambre Willis; and several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Cooley.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Smith, Lee Martin, Roger Shirley, Robert Williamson, Chris Davis, Robert Monsour, Kenneth Chaney and David Key.
Honorary pallbearers will include Charles Monsour, Billy Fletcher, Pete Ethridge, Gary Ezell, Tommie Majure and deacons of Goodwater Baptist Church.
Visitation will be today 30 minutes prior to services.
MARVIN EDISON ADAMS SR.
GILBERTOWN, ALA.  Services for Marvin Edison Adams Sr. will be held today at 2 p.m. at Heritage Church of God, with the Revs. Clovis Lewis and B.A. Brown officiating. Burial will be in Gilbertown Cemetery with Phillips Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Adams, 77, of Gilbertown, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, in Meridian.
Survivors include his wife, Christine D. Adams, of Gilbertown; three sons, Marvin "Skooter" Adams and Marty D. Adams, both of Saraland, and Chad Adams, of Gilbertown; two daughters, Diane A. Rogers and Genae A. Hall, both of Saraland; a brother, Gaines R. Adams, of Thomasville; two sisters, Vermell Nordan, of Tuscaloosa, and Nell Lee, of Barrytown; and 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
IDA DANSBY

PHILADELPHIA Services for Ida Dansby will be held today at 2 p.m. at McClain-Hays Chapel with the Rev. David Richardson officiating. Burial will be in Cedarlawn Cemetery in Philadelphia.
Mrs. Dansby, 98, of Meridian, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her son, Dewayne Dansby, of Pascagoula; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
LUCILE FINKLEY

MACON Graveside services for Lucile Finkley will be held today at 2 p.m. at Oddfellows Cemetery with Bro. Darren Chester officiating with Cockrell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Miss Finkley, 88, of Noxubee County, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2002, at Care Center of Vernon, Ala.
Survivors include a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held today from 1 p.m. -1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
MARY DILL GRIMES

YORK, Ala. Services for Mary Dill Grimes will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Siloam Baptist Church with Dr. Bob Simmons and the Rev. Houston Haynes officiating. Burial will be in Beulah Cemetery with Bumpers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Grimes, 91, of York, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2002, at Sumter Health and Rehab in York. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church
Survivors include three sons, Joe Alton Grimes, of Clinton, Roger Glenn Grimes, of Anniston, and Charles Grady Grimes, of Kinterbish; two daughters, Carolyn Reid Grimes Cash, of Auburn, and Ruth Lane Grimes Tew, of York; a brother, Joe Dill, of Meridian, Miss.; a sister, Thelma Alexander, of York; and 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; and one special friend and roommate, Mildred Murphy, of York.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 1 p.m.- 2 p.m. at Siloam Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will include her grandsons.
