CECIL R. TAYLOR
Retired merchant
GILBERTOWN, Ala. Services for Cecil R. Taylor will be held today at 3 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Grant McClain officiating. Burial will be in Gilbertown Cemetery.
Mr. Taylor, 78, of Butler, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2002, at his home.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Taylor of Butler; his special son-in-law, Steve Cornelson of Mt. Sterling; two daughters, Cecilia McCain of Semmes; and Vanessa Cornelson of Mt. Sterling; two brothers, Harlan Taylor of Mobile; and Henry Taylor of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; two sisters, Jewel Stanford of Bladon Springs; and Hazel Stokley of York; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family request memorials be made to Hospice South of Demopolis,.
Visitation will be today from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
ALMA V. HARRIS
Laundry supervisor
Graveside services for Alma V. Harris will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Memorial Park. James F. Webb Funeral Home IS in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Harris, 89, of Meridian, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, at King's Daughters and Sons Rest Home. She was a former laundromat operator and laundry supervisor at Queen City Nursing Center. She was a member of Bonita United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her two sisters, Beulah McLemore and Eula Moulds, both of Meridian; a brother, Paul Wellborn of Lake Alfred, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
JOE HAGWOOD
Market manager at Winn-Dixie
Services for Joe Hagwood will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Center Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Ervin Mooney, Ernest Allen, Weston Burnside and Danny Balint officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Barham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hagwood, 47, of Causeyville, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002, at his home. He was the market manager of Winn-Dixie for 30 years, president of the Causeyville Volunteer Fire Department, the owner of Causeyville Deer Processors and coached a little league baseball team in Causeyville. He was also a member of the Center Grove Baptist Church and a member of the Causeyville Community Club.
Survivors include his wife, Pat Hagwood, his son, Jason Hagwood, and his mother, Susie Hagwood, all of Causeyville; a mother-in-law, Dot Gressett, and a sister-in-law, Marie Jackson and her husband, Arnold, all of Jackson; a brother-in-law, L.D. Gressett of Meridian; three aunts, Jane Watkins and Lula Daniels, both of Meridian; and Lois Roberson of Causeyville; and three uncles, Warren Daniels and Reed Hagwood, both of Meridian; and Gerald Roberson of Causeyville.
He was preceded in death by his father, Horace Hagwood.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Lynn Culpepper, Mike Jones, Ray Boswell, Marvin Hagwood, LaNoyett Smith, Tommy Sides, James Kelley, Tommy McNair and Lamar Branning. Honorary pallbearers will be Winn-Dixie employees, members of the Causeyville Volunteer Fire Dept., Benny Hagwood, P.A. Thrash, Austin Thrash and Roger Harper.
EUGENE BATY
Retired from Larkin Oil
YORK, Ala. Services for Eugene Baty will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Livingston United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tim Meadows officiating. Burial will be in Livingston Memorial Gardens with Bumpers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Baty, 73, of Livingston, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, at Baptist Montclair Hospital in Birmingham.
Survivors include his wife, Sara Boyd Baty, and his daughter, Rita Baty Bonner, both of Livingston; a son, Harold Eugene Baty of Tuscumbia; two brothers, J.B. Baty of York; and Thomas Baty of Aberdeen, Miss.; a sister, Bertha Stephens of DeKalb, Miss.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorials be made to the Livingston United Methodist Church or to pancreatic research.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
INA FAYE HORNE
QUITMAN Services for Ina Faye Horne will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Pearlie Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Horne, 47, of Quitman, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002 at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include her mother, L. Wallace; a son, Curtis Horne, Jr; two daughters, Patricia Hayes and Shelia Horne; two brothers, Danny Wallace and Bruce Wallace; five sisters, Ethel and Diane Wallace, Linda Staten, Sandra Pough and Brenda Spott; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandchild.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
