Meridian High School is hosting a round-robin Christmas tournament at the Northeast Soccer Complex today.
Four teams are taking part in the event which features games being played on two fields at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Joining Meridian in the one-day tourney are Northeast Lauderdale, Starkville and West Lauderdale.
The 10 a.m. games have Northeast taking on Meridian and Starkville facing West Lauderdale. At 1 p.m. West and MHS hook up, as do Starkville and Northeast Lauderdale.
The 4 p.m. games have Meridian facing Starkville and West Lauderdale taking on Northeast Lauderdale.
Sullivan says he finds playing the tournament a positive.
While pointing out that several players from some of the teams would be missing due to vacations, Sullivan still saw it as a positive.
West Lauderdale is 4-2 going into the event, while Northeast Lauderdale is 4-5 and Meridian is 3-6.
