No matter how hard you look, you are not going to find tonight's Southeast Lauderdale-Raymond basketball game on your schedule.
That's because it was a late add.
Raymond is the defending Class 4A state champions. Tip-off for the girls game is set for 6 p.m., with the boys to follow.
The Lady Tigers of Southeast are currently 13-3 with the only losses coming to West Lauderdale, Choctaw Central and Heidelberg.

Now that's a comeback
The Newton High School Tigers trailed South Leake by 17 points at the end of the first quarter, but Crandell Porter wasn't going to give up on his team.
His 5-3 boys club wound up taking an 86-79 win over South Leake behind the 18 points of Ladarrian Blaylock.
Next up for the Tigers is a Friday matchup with host Mendenhall in the People's Bank Showdown at 7:30 p.m.
Newton takes on Lawrence County in the same event at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Rush to Philadelphia for some hoops
Philadelphia High School head boys coach and athletic director Keith Robinson has put together another interesting field for the Philadelphia-Rush Medical Holiday Boys Classic which is set for Dec. 27-29 at the PHS gym.
Joining Philly in the eight-team event which sees every team playing three games, are Newton County, Neshoba Central, Kemper County, Union, Louisville, Nanih Waiya and Ackerman.
First-round games on Thursday, Dec. 27 have Louisville and Newton County meeting at 1 p.m., Union and Ackerman meeting at 2:15 p.m., Kemper County and Neshoba Central squaring off at 3:30 p.m. and Nanih Waiya facing Philadelphia at 4:45 p.m.
The Dec. 28 games also begin at 1 p.m., with the last start time at 4:45 p.m. and the same thing on Dec. 29, with the title game scheduled for 4:45 p.m.

There's one for the girls too
Nanih Waiya High School will be hosting an eight team girls event at the same time of Philly's boys tournament, with the same game times but different teams.
Joining the host Lady Warriors in the 2001 Nanih Waiya Christmas Invitational are Newton County, Kemper County, Noxapater, Louisville, Union, Weir and Montgomery County.
The action tips off on Thursday, Dec. 27 when Louisville faces Weir at 1 p.m., Newton County meets Kemper County at 2:15 p.m., Union takes on Montgomery County at 3:30 p.m. and Nanih Waiya faces Noxapater at 4:45 p.m.

Sorry, no scoring allowed here
While the Lamar School boys soccer team will face some stiff challenges early in 2002 in particular a Jan. 7 road game against Jackson Prep the Raiders have certainly looked strong on the way to a 4-0 early-season record.
The Raiders have yet to allow a goal, with the closest of the four victories being a 2-0 win over Presbyterian Christian.
Lamar also has wins over Parklane (5-0), Trinity episcopal (5-0) and Hillcrest Christian (5-0).
The next home match for the Raiders is Jan. 10 when Chamberlain-Hunt Academy of Port Gibson pays a visit.

They just keep on winning at home
The Meridian High School Lady Wildcats have picked up their share of wins over the past several years on the way to establishing themselves as one of the top girls soccer programs in Mississippi.
Among those wins have been a huge chunk of victories at MHS' Ray Stadiums.
Going into a home match against Northwest Ranking on Jan. 8, the Lady Wildcats will have a 33-match winning streak at Ray Stadium.
MHS, now 9-2 on the season, returns to action after Christmas break on Jan. 5 at Florence.

Raiders in need of more scoring
First-year Lamar School boys basketball coach Tristan Howell knew it was going to be a rebuilding year for the Raiders, who lost four senior starters off last year's team.
But he probably didn't expect points to be so tough to come by.
Lamar, which is 1-5 going into the East Central Community College MPSA Mississippi Classic Dec. 26-29, has been held to fewer than 30 points twice this season, and has scored more than 50 only once.
The Raiders have scored 256 points in six games for an average of 42.7 points per game.
Lamar has been counting on senior Joe Bryant, junior Jace Hill and sophomore David Haggard to provide most of the scoring so far this season.
