Noxubee County's Conner takes 2-4A honor

They call him the Bear
Riverfield Academy's Bear Fletcher was an All-Star for the North. So just how did he get named "The Bear?"
Fletcher lived up to his name when he bear-wrestled South punt returner Chad Ridley for no-gain following a North punt. The play was big because on the previous punt, Ridley had gotten loose for a 42-yard return.

No Roses for Vols, Taylor
Southeast Lauderdale head football coach Dwane Taylor loves to pull for his Tigers. A little known fact is that he is also a huge Tennessee Volunteer fan.
Taylor's joyous run with the Vols to the Rose Bowl was cut short by LSU on Saturday night, but he still backs his team.
Taylor has been happily surprised by the Vols performance this year. "At the beginning of the season I didn't think they would win the East, but now they are just the best team in the SEC," said Taylor, before his team lost to LSU in the title game. "I wanted to see them win at least one national championship in my lifetime and it happened in 98. Now I'm more worried about LSU than I am Miami." As well he should have been.
So what is it about being a Tennessee fan that makes people so excited? "It's a camaraderie thing," said Taylor. "Down here you have State fans, Ole Miss fans, Bama, Auburn, and Southern fans. Up there the whole state pulls for the Vols."
