Trying to get into the Christmas spirit?
A visit to Ann and Sonny Crowe's home Sunday will do the trick. All through the house, there are Santa Claus figures, decorations and Christmas trees. There is even a Santa Claus chess set on the coffee table.
Ann has been collecting Santa Claus sets for 12 years now, and has beautiful Christmas arrangements throughout her home at 7760 Lakeview Drive.
The Crowes will hold an open house from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. to give the public a look at some of the 2,000-plus piece Santa Claus collection. The tour is a fund-raiser for the Meridian Swim Association, and there will be a $5 charge at the door.
Some of the brands of her collection include Barefoot Santas, Santa World Travels by Mauri, Leo Smith, Waterforol Crystal, Lenox, Christopher Radco, Norman Rockwell, Royal Dalton, The Legend of Santa Claus by United Designs, Fitz and Floyd, Christmas In Your Corner Collection, Possible Dream Collection by Department 56, Eddie Walker Collection, Winter Silhouette, 20th Century Claus by Midwest, and Flights of Fancy Santas.
She said she starts putting the collection out sometime in October. Professional decorator William Godwin helps her with the decorations.
The Crowes have two grandsons who have competed for the Meridian Swim Association
