Lady Eagles still undefeated
The MCC Lady Eagles took a 69-41 win over Bishop State Saturday in the Delgado Classic.
The Lady Eagles improved their overall record to 13-0.
Leading scorers for the Eagles were Cantea Brown with 16 points, Monique Horner with 14, and Ericka Starks with 10.
Wildcats kick past Columbus
The Meridian Wildcats beat Columbus 2-1 in prep soccer action Saturday.
The two Wildcat goals came from Jay Barry and Andrew Gambrell.
Goalie Chris Kitchens led the defense with one saved penalty kick.
The Cats moved their overall record to 3-6 as they get ready for a road trip to Northeast Lauderdale Tuesday.
Trojans get bounced by Laurel
The Northeast Trojans got beat 4-3 by Laurel in prep soccer action Saturday.
The Trojans' goals came from Ryan Sweet. J.R. Smith had two assists.
Chad Brunson and Jorge Corrall also played a big part for the Trojans.
The Trojans will host Meridian Tuesday.
Sumter Academy wins Sumter Tourney
Sumter Academy beat Marion Military 51-34 in boys prep hoops action to win the Sumter Christmas Classic Saturday.
Sumter was led by Shane Martin with 23 points and John Upchurch with 13.
Winston Academy beats Carroll Academy
Winston Academy bounced past Carroll Saturday 59-33 in prep hoops.
Winston improved their overall record to 5-1.
Winston was led in scoring by Caleb Metts with 20 points, Jonathan Stevens with 11, and Fletch Peterson with 7.
A handful of other Patriots contributed to the scoring including Adam Wright, Joe Buck Peterson, Patrick Peterson, Cory Hancock, Blake Fulton, and Taylor Paschal.
