Louisville boys down CCHS Warriors, 69-43

The host Louisville Wildcats used a 20-4 second-quarter advantage on the way to a 69-43 win over Choctaw Central on the Saturday night the take the boys championship in the Lady Wildcats Classic.
Andre Coleman led Louisville with 28 points in the game, while Deon Lewis had 12 for the Warriors.
Louisville trailed 9-8 at the end of the first quarter, but jumped out to a 28-13 lead at the half and controlled the game the rest of the way.
Prentiss Chris. boys 84
Leake 83
The Rebels of Leake Academy were outscored 22-18 in the fourth quarter and fell to Prentiss Christian 84-83 on Saturday night, for their first loss of the season.
Leake led 23-18 after one quarter and the game was tied at 40-40 at the half.
Allen Byrd scored 19 to lead Leake, while Joshua Chamblee hit for 17, Justin Chancellor scored 15 and Luke Culpepper hit for 13.
Leake girls 53
Prentiss Christian 45
The Rebelettes trailed 32-27 at the half, but outscored Prentiss Christian 14-6 in the third quarter and 12-7 in the fourth to take the 53-45 win. Lauren Powers scored 15 points for Leake, while Jessica Dickens, Lauren Gross and Kristen Caldwell hit for 10 each.
Choctaw Central girls 76
Louisville 56
The Lady Warriors of Choctaw Central outscored host Louisville High School 21-8 in the fourth quarter to break open a close game and take a 76-56 win in the Louisville Wildcat Classic on Friday night.
CCHS led 40-27 at the half, before the Lady Wildcats cut it to 55-48 at the end of three quarters of play.
Deaundrea Johnson scored 22 points to lead the Lady Warriors, while Trish Phillips it for 21. Dee Forrest scored 26 to lead LHS, while Brittany Triplett hit for 11.
Meridian boys 81
Tupelo 66
Meridian High School outscored Tupelo 22-11 in the final quarter on the way to an 81-66 road win on Friday night. Tony Dunn hit for 14 and Keno Leflore scored 13 for the Wildcats, while Brandon Robins had 20 for the Golden Wave.
Lake girls 66
Union 48
The Lady Hornets built up a 30-point lead after three quarters, then held on for the 66-48 win over Union. Kim Cox scored 16 to lead Lake.
Quitman boys 49
Mendenhall 47
The Panthers of QHS outscored Mendenhall 13-4 in the fourth quarter to take the 49-47 win on Friday night. Marcus McCormick scored 13 points for Quitman in the game.
Okolona boys 73
Noxubee County 53
Okolona jumped out to a 35-20 lead on Friday and then held on for the win.
Reggie Gunn scored 29 points for the 6-2 winners, while Delvin Young and O'Bryant Brandy hit for 18 for the Tigers of Noxubee County.
William-Sullivan girls 62
Scott Central 58
Scott Central led the undefeated William-Sullivan girls 34-28, before losing its grip on the lead in the second half and falling 62-58. Kattie Nickson scored 21 for Scott Central.
Louisville boys 52
Kosciusko 32
The Wildcats outscored the whippets 29-15 in the second half on the way to the 52-32 win in the Louisville Wildcat Classic on Friday.
Fred Hopkins had 15 and Ryan Hudson 14 for LHS, while Chris Hall scored 11 for Kosy.
Wayne County boys 68
Forest Hill 49
The War Eagles hit for big numbers in the first and fourth quarters to take the 68-49 win over Forest Hill.
Coach Geary Jackson's squads outscored the Rebels 20-6 in the first quarter and 25-8 in the fourth on the way to the Friday night win.
Dietric Slater led Wayne County with 26 points, while John Gray scored 17.
Heidelberg boys 88
Southeast Lauderdale 62
Derrick Turner pumped in 22 points and Fred Stevens scored 17 to lead the Oilers to the 88-62 win over Southeast Lauderdale on Friday night. LaPatrick Carlisle scored 20 for the Tigers.
Noxubee County girls 84
Okolona 27
Fourteen players scored as Noxubee County jumped out to a 45-7 lead at the half and rolled to the 84-27 win.
Erlexis Cooper scored 12 to lead Noxubee, while Stephanie Stewart hit for 10.
Union boys 62
Lake 44
The Yellowjackets of UHS jumped out to a 21-6 first-quarter lead and held on for the victory over the Hornets of Lake. Derrick Harris had 21 for Union, while Anthony Johnson scored 14.
Wayne County girls 71
Forest Hill 48
Wayne County used a 26-6 edge in the second quarter to take the 71-48 win on Friday night. Natalie Jordan scored 16 for the winners, while Sonya Henderson had 14.
