Davis joins The Star as circulation director

Brent Davis, a veteran in the field of newspaper promotion and sales, has been named circulation director of The Meridian Star, publisher Paul Barrett announced today.
Davis comes to The Star after working 25 years in the newspaper business, beginning in 1976 as a carrier for The Tampa Tribune. When he left The Tribune 11 years later, he was assistant state circulation manager.
Davis has performed various jobs at several newspapers, including circulation manager, single copy sales manager, sales and promotions manager, customer service manager and district sales manager.
Besides the Tampa paper, Davis also worked for The Sarasota Herald Tribune, The Montgomery Advertiser, The Gwinnett Daily News and The Hattiesburg American.
Davis and his wife, Lynn, have been married 22 years and are the parents of three children, Alex, 15; Terry, 12; and Megan, 8.
In a related announcement, Barrett also said Alan Curran has been promoted from circulation sales manager to circulation operations manager. Curran's responsibilities include, among other things, managing the carrier delivery force and district sales managers. Operationally, Curran will report to Davis.
