Saturday will be a busy day for the Meridian Museum of Art.
First, the museum will be presenting its latest arts and crafts workshop for children ages 4-12: Christmas Around the World.
Taught by Sylvia Peterson, this workshop will give budding young artists the chance to work on a variety of Christmas projects with an "international flavor." Cost for the workshop is $3, and all materials are provided.
Space will be limited, he notes, and pre-registration is required. Parents are encouraged to stay and take part alongside their budding young Rembrandts.
Later, museum will host its annual membership gala. The gala is a special event that combines the reception for the Museum Members Show celebrating the artistic talents of MMA members with a program that remembers and celebrates the the people who have helped to build and support the Museum over the past 31 years.
The program starts at 6:45 p.m.

Come to Ann and Sonny Crowe's Santa Open House at 7760 Lakeview Drive. Don't miss getting to see this amazing private collection of Santa Claus in every shape and form. Every room is decorated from floor to ceiling with Santa trees, pictures, animated and static displays and much more.

Thursday through Wednesday: Meridian Little Theatre will be presenting " Nuncrackers." The hilarious Nunsense Carolers are back with their Christmas Musical. Season tickets and single performance tickets are available. For more information or tickets call 601-482-6371.
Today through Saturday: The "Trees of Christmas" tours at Merrehope continue. Tours of historic Merrehope, a beautifully restored antebellum home, circa 1858, and the F. W. Williams House, a restored Victorian house, circa 1886, offer Christmas trees decorated in various themes. Admission is $8 for adults and $2 for students. Open daily 9 a.m.-4 p.m.; Sunday 1 p.m.- 4 p.m. For more information call 601-483-8439.
Thursday through Sunday: Highland Baptist Church will present its "Singing Christmas Tree" program. Highland Baptist Church is located at 3400 27th St. Program times are Dec. 6-7, 7 p.m. and Dec. 8-9, 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Admission is free but tickets must be reserved in advance. Dec. 13: An American Family Christmas Festival with patriotic crafts, entertainment, food and beverages will be held downtown at Dumont Plaza from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. Admission is free. For more information call 601-484-6841.
Dec. 20-22: The Sandy Ridge Bluegrass Camp and Jam will be held behind Clarkdale School. This is a three days of bluegrass, gospel music and camping. It will be held on highway 45 S,. behind Clarkdale School. Camping fees only. For more information call 601-693-2996 or 482-0421.
