Focus your writing skills on Health/Medical section

By Staff
Dec. 8, 2001
You are invited to submit a story, letter, column or poem to The Meridian Star's reader-written "Profile 2002" edition. The fifth section is devoted to health/physical fitness and Meridian's large medical community.
Last year's Profile edition, called "By the People," was also reader-written and so successful that we decided to do it again.
The theme this year is "The Fabric of America," and we are looking for entries about the relationships and events both small and large that bind us together and define our lives.
The Health and Medical section of last year's profile included true stories of midnight dashes to the hospital as babies made their entrance into the world, humorous columns about the confusing selection of vitamins available and the equally confusing language that doctors seem to speak, and a review of a murder mystery written by a local doctor.
The section will also include "Best Brags," which are exactly what they sound like. In this section, you can brag on a doctor or nurse you want to recognize because they took good care of you. Include a photograph if you can.
Call Managing Editor Suzanne Monk at 693-1551, ext. 3229, if you have questions, or want to talk about your story idea.
