Fired investigator arrested on three counts of fondling

STONEWALL James Glenn Lewis Jr., of Stonewall, was arrested Wednesday by the state attorney general's office on three counts of fondling.
Two of the counts occurred in Clarke County and the third was in Newton County.
Lewis had been a law enforcement officer since 1995 and was an investigator in the Youth Services Division of the attorney general's office since April 1999. He was fired on Dec. 1.
If convicted, Lewis could be sentenced up to 15 years and fined up to $5,000 on each count.
The cases have been turned over to the district attorney's offices in Clarke and Newton counties for prosecution. The investigation is continuing.
