CLINTON The Wayne Academy Jaguars had a hard time playing under sloppy field conditions here at Robinson-Hale Stadium on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 14-7 championship decision to Trinity Episcopal School.
The game was slated for this past Thursday, however due to bad weather, the game was postponed to Saturday.
The field hosted two games prior to the Wayne Academy and Trinity game, therefore it made for a slippery afternoon. The field helped both teams in their respective ways.
Trinity had several plays that could have been big gainers, however due to soggy mud players could not keep their feet due .
As the game was postponed, Trinity head coach David King said he felt that it was a major plus for his team.
Trinity running back, Chad Ridley said the field affected his performance a lot as well.
Wayne Academy's Cory Cochran had the same feelings as Ridley did about the field.
