MPD charges three with armed robbery

Police charged three people on Monday, including one 15-year-old, with charges ranging from armed robbery to kidnapping.
For two of the men, these charges were in addition to armed robbery arrests last week.
Meridian Police Department Capt. Betty Evans said the majority of the charges are in connection with armed robberies from the summer and fall of 2000. She said the robberies mainly involved individuals.
Michael Carr, 21, of 2104 20th St., is charged with three additional counts of armed robbery, bringing his total charges to seven.
Carr was charged last week with the alleged armed robberies of a pizza delivery man and a guest at a South Frontage Road motel. He remained in custody today on $115,000 bond.
Also charged in connection with last week's robberies is Phillip Todd, 19, and Tony Smith, 15, both of 2427 Fourth Ave.
Todd was charged on Monday with four additional counts of armed robbery, bringing his total armed robbery charges to eight. He also is charged with one count of kidnapping.
Smith is charged with one count of kidnapping and one count of armed robbery.
Smith's bond was set at $20,000. Todd remains in custody on $135,000 bond.
Meanwhile, police have charged a Meridian man in connection with two recent purse snatchings.
Evans said Geremy S. Wilkerson, 18, of 803 Lake St., is charged with two counts of grand larceny in connection with the purse snatchings.
