Services for Jessie Howard Caraway were to be held today at 10 a.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Danny Chisholm and Buddy Pettey officiating. Burial was to be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery
Mr. Caraway, 82, of Meridian, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2001, in his home. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and the Alabama Beekeepers Association. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Brown Caraway of Meridian; three brothers, Pete Caraway of Meridian, Roland Caraway of Quitman and Claude Caraway of Shreveport, La.; three sisters, Irene Martin of Quitman, Ethel Doner of Collinsville and Jean Pickard of Meridian; grandchildren, Bradley Caraway, Candy DeHart and Shirley Caraway.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Edna C. Smith; his parents, Mr. and Ms. Ben Caraway; brothers, Tommie, William B., Milton and Maurice Caraway; and two nephews, David and Michael Caraway.
Pallbearers will be Josh Webb, Bryan Boatner, Jim Fail, Tim Doner and Jerry Moulds.

Graveside services for Joe B. Fairchild Jr. will be held today at 1 p.m. at Fairchild Cemetery with the Rev. Dale Eakes officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Fairchild, 69, of Meridian, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2001, in his home.
Survivors include his wife, Pat D. Fairchild, three brothers, George R. Fairchild, Charles Fairchild and Butch Fairchild, all of Meridian.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe B. Fairchild and Ruby N. Fairchild.

NEWTON Services for Frances Sykes will be held today at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Newton with the Rev. Randy Cuchens officiating. Burial will be in Newton County Memorial Gardens with James F. Webb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Sykes, 82, of Newton, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at Camden Nursing Home in Alabama. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Eastern Star.
Survivors include a daughter, Lucretia Connell of Camden, Ala.; two sons, Bob Sykes of Lawrence Kan., and Jack Sykes of Pearl; four grandchildren, Bill Sykes and Phillip Sykes of Pearl, John Sykes and Cody Sykes of Lawrence; and one great-grandchild, Brian Sykes of Pearl.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tobie Sykes.
Pallbearers will be Dick Hickman, Roger Godwin, Charles Vance, Donald Godwin, the Rev. John Tillery, Erroll Morales and Roy Simmons.
JAMES LAWRENCE ALEXANDER

GREENVILLE Services for James Lawrence Alexander will be held today at 2 p.m. at Boone-Wells Funeral Home. Burial will be in Caile Cemetery with full military honors.
Mr. Alexander, 66, of Columbus, formerly of Greenville, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at Golden Triangle Baptist Hospital in Columbus. He was born in Greenville, moving to Enterprise with his parents at an early age. He graduated from Enterprise High School. Mr. Alexander served in the U.S. Air Force retiring after 22 years with the rank of senior master sergeant in 1976, as management engineering superintendent. He spent most of his time in Alexandria, Va. and in Hawaii. Mr. Alexander owned and operated the Red Line Alternator &Starter Co. in Alexandria, Va., until his retirement. He had been a resident of Columbus since 1999.
Survivors include his wife, Verley Tadlock Alexander of Columbus; a daughter, Marlina Kay Neff and a son, Guy Ronald Alexander, both of Alexandria; a stepson, Jimmy Ault of Greenville; two sisters, Hazel Elizabeth Alexander of Spotsyvania, Va. and Faye Alexander Grimes of Bartlett, Tenn.; a brother, Joseph C. Alexander of Meridian; three granddaughters, Victoria Neff and Veronica Neff of Alexandria, and Lara Ault of Greenville.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Delorice Oliver.
JAMES THOMAS STUART JR.

PHILADELPHIA Graveside services for James Thomas "Tom" Stuart Jr. will be held today at 3 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery in Meridian with the Rev. Jerry Beam officiating. McClain-Hays Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Stuart, 64, of Jackson, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2001, at Neshoba County General Hospital.
He was a native and longtime resident of Meridian. He attended Meridian Junior College and Florida Institute of Technology. Mr. Stuart served as mayor of Meridian from 1972-76. he was a member of the Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, a Shriner and attended First Presbyterian Church while living in Meridian. He had been a resident of Jackson for the past eight years and was active in the Jackson Redevelopment Authority.
